Below is a sample of some of my best baseball and softball calls from Waynesburg, the Florida Trip, and Trinity High School baseball.

Introduction

My name is Anthony DiFilippo and I am a senior at Waynesburg University. Before college, I spent three years in the Franklin Regional High School broadcasting program. I directed an award-winning newscast during my senior year, a show in which I was also an anchor. I also wrote for the Westmoreland County edition of the Tribune-Review, in the high school sports section. At Waynesburg University, I had the opportunity to produce Plead Your Case, the sports debate show on campus. I've had over 50 play-by-play opportunities while here. I've had experiences and internships in every phase of communication, including with the Pittsburgh Penguins, WKRG News 5 in Mobile, Alabama, the Tribune-Review,  and most recently, freelance broadcasting with the River Network and the National Ball Hockey League.

My Story

When I was younger, I randomly wrote and talked about anything that would come to mind. As I got older, I transformed my passion for writing and sports into my own podcast, City of Bridges. At the age of 16, I got a chance to start writing for a Pirates blog. When I was 17, I started writing for the Tribune-Review in a paid position. Two years ago, I co-created Cannonball Comin,' a Pirates and Steelers podcast. Last summer, I was one of five people hand-selected for a news internship with WKRG in Mobile, Alabama. This past spring, I was one of 3 people selected for an internship with Pittsburgh Penguins Radio, or 105.9 the X, and got a chance to travel with Waynesburg's baseball team to Florida for a week.
